Error When Sending Emails
Giggio Help: What to Do If Your SMTP Settings Stop Working
If you’re suddenly unable to send emails through Giggio, don’t worry — it’s usually a simple fix. Here are the two most common reasons why your SMTP settings might stop working, and what to do about them:
1. Your Email Password Has Changed
This is the most frequent cause. If you’ve recently changed your email password (e.g., for your Gmail, Outlook, or IONOS account), Giggio won’t automatically know that.
What to do:
- Log in to Giggio.
- Go to Settings > Email Settings.
- Re-enter your updated email password in the SMTP Password field.
- Save your changes.
Once the new password is saved, Giggio should be able to send emails as normal.
2. Your Email Provider Is Having Issues
Sometimes, your email provider (e.g., 123 Reg, Gmail, IONOS) may be experiencing a temporary service outage or blocking connections from third-party apps like Giggio.
What to do:
- Try sending an email directly through your email provider’s webmail interface.
- If that doesn’t work, check your provider’s service status page or contact their support.
- If you’re using two-factor authentication or app-specific passwords, double-check that those settings haven’t changed.
Still Not Working?
If you’ve double-checked your password and your provider seems fine, try the following:
- Re-check the SMTP host, port, and encryption settings (you can find the correct settings for most providers here).
- Make sure your internet connection is stable.
